Thanks to everyone who participated in and/or contributed to the Relay for Life last weekend at the Mulholland Fountain in Los Feliz. The event, which was organized by Brigid LaBonge and Mary Frances Smith-Reynolds, raised $33,000 for cancer research.
Councilmember LaBonge has pressed developers to scale back the size and density of this project, proposed for Lankershim Boulevard in Studio City. Click here to read more about this issue.

The recovery of Griffith Park following the fires of May 8-9, 2007 continues with regular monthly clean-ups. Held on the second Saturday of each month at 8:30 a.m., they offer park-lovers an opportunity to demonstrate affection for a great Los Angeles park.
